Happy Labor Day Weekend, North Families!

The first day of school is almost here—Tuesday, September 2nd!

  • 6th Graders & WEB Leaders begin at 7:15 AM. 6th graders will report to their 6th-hour class, where our entire staff and WEB Leaders will be ready to support them as they get to know North Middle School.

  • 7th & 8th Graders begin at 11:15 AM (buses will run four hours later than normal).

  • Lunch will be served for all grade levels.

  • Dismissal is at 2:34 PM for everyone.

As you may know, there was recently a tragic school bus accident in a neighboring district. This is a heartbreaking reminder that safety is always our top priority. Please help us keep arrival and dismissal safe by following the traffic pattern below:

  • Buses only may travel westbound on Garfield (red arrow).
  • All other traffic should enter from West Garfield and head east (green arrow).
  • Students may be dropped off at the two bump-out areas (purple), both connected to a crosswalk and supervised by staff and administration.

  • Drop off begins at 6:50 AM.

  • Our School Resource Officer will also be on site most mornings to help monitor traffic.

  • Please avoid U-turns and remind any family members or friends who drive your child to follow these procedures as well.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience during these busy times of day.

Just a reminder that Wednesdays are early release days. Students will be dismissed at 1:20 PM. Thank you for planning accordingly!

Wishing you and your family a safe and enjoyable Labor Day weekend!

Warmly,

Kristin Higgins

Principal

North Middle School

We are SO excited to introduce you to our 8th Grade Book Section in the library media center at North Middle School! The goal of this section is to boost the love of reading for our teens by providing access to more relatable and engaging literature. The books in our 8th grade section specifically fall on the younger end of young adult literature (appropriate for 14 year old’s as reviewed by library publications).

The books in this section are marked with a yellow label and will only be checked out to 8th grade students.

If you would not like your child to have access to this section of books, please fill out the Opt-Out form linked here.

8th grade students are given the option to purchase the traditional school issued assignment notebook for $5 or choose a method of assignment tracking that works best for them.

If your student would like the traditional school assignment notebook, sign up on this Google Form and your account will be billed $5.

This is optional only for our 8th grade students. 6th & 7th grade students will receive a school issue assignment notebook.

September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month! North Star, Jillian Olsen, is a pediatric cancer survivor and is collecting new toys for kids at Children's Hospital. Starting September 2nd, swing by our Main Office Lobby to find a collection box. Your contributions can make a real difference!

Order your school portraits and yearbooks directly from VIP. School portraits will be mailed home and yearbooks will be handed out in June.
