NORTH PLATTE CHAMBER & DEVELOPMENT HOST 2022 ANNUAL MEETING, AWARD HONOREES
The North Platte Area Chamber & Development Corporation held its annual meeting at Venue 304 on October 13, 2022 announcing new officers and awarded honorees for 2022.
Brandon Jones of Beveridge, Inc. Board Chairman, presided over the event with Bill Troshynski of Brouillette, Dugan, Troshynski, Bellew, PC LLO, taking over as the 2022-2023 Board Chairman.
Tony Goins, Executive Director of the Nebraska Department of Economic Development was the keynote speaker. Gary Person, president of the local organization gave the Year in Review.
Josh Harm of NebraskaLand Bank, was recognized as retiring board member with Cory Johanson, (2nd term) fnbo; Tanner Pettera (2nd Term), HUB International; Leland Poppe (2nd Term), First Interstate Bank; and Hans Julius, NebraskaLand Bank all elected to the board.
The honorees for the annual event were:
· Business Member of the Year- Venue 304
· New Business of the Year- North 40 Chophouse
· Entrepreneurs of the Year- Pioneer Ranch (Rusty & Rachel Kemp); Olson Farms (Kirk & Tracy Olson); & TD Angus ( Trey & Dayna Wasserburger)
· Volunteer "Project" of the Year- Wellness & Recreation Alliance, Leland Poppe & Megan McGown
· Community Impact of the Year- Brock Wurl, Rec Center Petition Drive
· Young Professionals - Community Award- Schmidt Foundation & Eagle Communication
· Professional of the Year- Bob Phares, Retiring UNL Regent, former North Platte Mayor
· Business CEO of the Year- Pat Keenan, Keenan Management
· Economic Development Partners of the Year- City of North Platte, Lincoln County, Senator Mike Jacobson/Nebraska Legislator, and Nebraska Department of Economic Development
