Station Remodel Project Updates

Work on remodel projects of Station 83 in Shorewood and Station 84 in Whitefish Bay continues this week. Station 83 (top) has had many interior walls removed as part of the project. Meanwhile, the second apparatus bay door will be replaced next week and drywall work will continue at Station 84.
Fire in the US 2008-2017

Weekly Update
  • The Department welcomed new Fire Inspector Jim Schweda this week. Jim joins the Community Risk Reduction Bureau and will be spending the next few weeks getting oriented and up to speed on our inspection and code enforcement process.
  • Training this week focused on active threat/active shooter response.
  • Staff is reviewing and updating the Department's accreditation documentation in preparation for a re-accreditation site visit later this year.
  • Progress continues to be made on the fire station remodel at Whitefish Bay Fire Station 84 this week. Drywall is being hung throughout the building this week.
