Departmental Weekly Update
Weekly Summary

  • The Board of Directors met on March 12 and took the following actions:
    • Approved the purchase of a Horton/International Ambulance from Foster Coach.
    • Approved a resolution supporting adding joint dispatch centers to the levy limit exemption currently in State Statutes for joint fire departments.
  • Background and medical exams on individuals being considered for hiring as Firefighters are being completed this week.
  • The Fire Commission will meet next week to review the candidate background checks and take action on final approval for the firefighter candidates.
  • The Fire Marshal is in the process of completing occupancy inspections on two major senior living complexes in Glendale.
  • The Department assisted the Milwaukee Fire Department at two, two alarm fires on March 13.
