Weekly Summary

  • Department members provided 22 fire prevention presentations to North Shore Area Schools this week. October is Fire Prevention Month. Fire prevention presentations will continue in area schools throughout the month of October.
  • Community Relations Officer David Glanz along with the North Shore Health Department made presentations at the Manchester Village Condominium's Health Fair this past week in Glendale.
  • Lt. Dan Tyk assisted with teaching CPR at the Heart and Stroke Walk this past Saturday at Veteran's Park. This event is one of many events that the Department partners with the Medical College of Wisconsin, Froedtert Health Systems, Project ADAM, Greenfield Fire/Rescue, Milwaukee Fire Department and the American Heart Association to teach the public about the dangers of heart disease and how to perform CPR.
  • The Fire Commission met and voted to approve the completion of probationary periods for Lt. Paul Lange and Lt. Jeremy Boehlke.
  • The Board of Directors and it's Finance Committee will meet on Tuesday October 9 at River Hills Village Hall.
  • Firefighter/Paramedic Recruits completed a week of firefighter safety and rescue training as part of the Joint Fire Training Academy.
