North Shore Fire/Rescue Weekly Update
  • The Department pushed out social media postings on clearing of fire hydrants. The large snowfalls this year have created challenges with accessing fire hydrants.

  • All personnel are going through ice rescue refresher/training classroom session this week. Practical training will be held at a later time.

  • Chief Whitaker and Finance Director Harrigan met with the seven North Shore Administrators/Managers on Wednesday to further discuss options for updating Fire Station 82. Staff will be doing further research on the project and report back in March.

  • Chief Whitaker and Battalion Chief Tyk met with Ascension Wisconsin regarding EMS relationships with their hospital emergency departments and staff.

  • Brown Deer Village Board approved the Single/Multi-Year Capital Budget recommended by the Fire Department Board of Directors last week.


  • The Department's contracted investigator is currently completing background investigations of potential new firefighter hires.

  • Chief Whitaker and Assistant Chief Harris met with representatives of Wauwatosa, West Allis and St. Francis Fire Departments to discuss plans for the Spring 2021 Joint Fire Training Academy.
