The Fire Department Board of Directors met on Tuesday morning and approval repairs to a ladder truck and received a reports on bids received for the reconstruction of Fire Station 82 and offices for the North Shore Health Department. The Board will reconvene later this month to take action on the bids. The seven communities also appointed Bayside Village Manager Andy Pederson as the representative of the North Shore Communities to the ICC Public Safety Answering Point Committee.
The Fire Commission's Assessment Center for the position of Fire Captain occurred this week. Thanks to the neighboring fire departments and community members who participated as assessors in the promotional process.
Chief Whitaker represented the Department at the quarterly North Shore Information Technology Steering Committee Meeting this week.
The Fire Commission will meet on Monday November 7 to review appointments for Assistant Chief and Battalion Chief, review candidates for promotion to Captain and hiring of Firefighter Interns.
Quarterly Company Officer meetings are scheduled for November 9 and 10 at Station 81.
