2016-2017 Training Schedule

** Saturday Leader Specific Trainings are from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
** Friday - Saturday Outdoor Leader Skills Training is overnight from 4 p.m. - 3 p.m.
** Tuesday evening Leader Specific Trainings are done in 2-hour sections and require you to attend both  sessions to receive full credit for being trained.

Congratulations and Thank You for your service to the Scouts in our District.

The  Silver Beaver Award  was introduced in 1931 and is a council-level distinguished service  award  of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this  award  are registered Scouters who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council.

Our new National Commissioner of the Boy Scouts of America, Charles Dahlquist, will instruct and inspire us. He is excited to come to Las Vegas and invites each of you to come and spend the evening with him and your fellow Scouters.

All commissioners are invited and all unit key 3's (In LDS lingo: bishoprics, key unit leader (cubmaster, scoutmaster, venturing advisor, team coach) and committee chairs.

District AWARDS
The District Dinner is February 18th.    

One of the major events at the Dinner is the recognizing the key leaders within our units and the District.  It is our chance to recognize those who give so much to our youth and other leaders - to say THANK YOU for all the work they have done.

Besides recognizing those that received the Council's Silver Beaver Award, the District recognition includes;

District Award of Merit - Spark Plug - Super Couple - Super Spouse Awards

Each of you know someone who meeting the criteria above - please take time to show your appreciation to them by completing one or more of the attached nomination forms.  Deadline to for submittals to Ray Jacobson, (, is February 4th!!

Modifications to Cub Scout Requirements

The BSA just released changes to the new Cub Program Requirements. There were many that could not do all the requirements in the given time so they have made some adjustments.

If you are wondering how and when to get SCOUTBOOK free, we have a bit more info.  
Your info was given to the scout office at the time of recharter.  That info is now being put into the system.  When your Unit has been entered, you will receive an email with a code that you will enter when setting up your SCOUTBOOK account OR when you renew your subscription.

SCOUTBOOK is a great way to track advancements from Cub Scouts all the way to Eagle.  We are here to help you access the program and learn all about it.
