Trinity Together - Cradle to Career Partnership
Career Experience Program

Early work with the Trinity County business community and school districts helped shape the work of Trinity Together Cradle to Career Partnership. Initial convenings with partners, as well as collected data, showed that many of our community members needed employment related skills. One of the first things Trinity Together did was work with their largest high school to implement the Career Experience Program. In its second year, the program has given dozens of students opportunities to intern or job shadow with local businesses. The relationships with their business community and schools has allowed stakeholders to be part of defining a local issue, as well as designing and implementing a solution to achieve a common goal. Ultimately, Trinity Together hopes these partnerships will continue to increase the economic vitality of their county.
COVID-19 and Social-Emotional Learning
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. Now, more than ever, we understand how important it is to demonstrate empathy and resilience, build and maintain relationships across distance, and call upon our collective resolve to strengthen our schools and our communities ( CASEL, 2020).

For our region's school leaders preparing for back-to-school in today’s context, social-emotional learning (SEL) will be integral to student success. Join the upcoming webinar to hear superintendents share their experiences and concrete strategies to strengthen and support students’ social-emotional well-being in schools.
