Director's Corner

At North Wales Area Library, we pride ourselves on providing the highest level of Library services possible.  Part of that is forecasting and planning for the future.  I am excited to announce that three Eagle Scout candidates have planned their projects which include adding benches so that children have a safe place to wait for their caregivers, a sensory garden and a picnic table area all on the north side of the Library.

Barnes and Noble, 1271 Knapp Road  North Wales, is the site of an all day Library fundraiser on Wednesday, December 11 from 10 am - 9 pm.   Mention the Library and a  portion of all proceeds will be donated to the North Wales Area Library!  Also, the annual Library Home-Made Cookie Sale is set for December 17 and 18.  We need bakers as well as shoppers.  The supply of cookies will be limited so please pre-order your cookies on-line or call the Library.
Wishing each of you a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday.

Happy Reading,

150th Anniversary Commemorative Items

The 150th Anniversary events are now wonderful memories, but you can still purchase commemorative items at Borough Hall - our commemorative book with North Wales photos, memories, and history, cookbook with delicious recipes from past and current residents, decorative ornament, water bottle, and t-shirts. These are the perfect gifts for birthdays, holidays, other special occasions, or for yourself. And the "Welcome to North Wales" banners, which were displayed on Main and Walnut Streets this year, are being sold for $20 with a limited number available. Don't miss this opportunity to have unique historic mementos of the 150th Anniversary of North Wales Borough! Also, the Library has the commemorative book and cookbook for sale at the Circulation Desk.

Teen Agora
with Dr. Merow

Teen Agora is the library's new teen philosophy club for ages 15 to 18. We all make philosophical judgments, some using careful, logical analysis, and others relying on emotion, popular sentiment, hearsay, and highly questionable lines of thought. Our goal is to polish the skills needed to make rational decisions about contentious issues. We will continue the great conversation in the tradition of the Socratic dialogs. For more information and optional readings, contact Kate:  [email protected]  or call 215-699-5410.
Teen Photography Workshop
