August 2026 Communications Theme

A Life of Prayer

Prayer is woven throughout the life of God’s people. In moments of joy and celebration, we give thanks. In times of uncertainty, grief, and struggle, we seek His mercy and guidance. In every season, our heavenly Father invites us to come before Him with confidence, knowing that He hears us through Christ.

In the Fall Ministry Update, we explore the gift of prayer through the voices of God’s people across the LCMS Northern Illinois District. You will read what is on the hearts of fellow believers—and you also hear from others who share how prayer shapes the life of their congregations, strengthens faith, and connects God’s people to one another and to His promises.
