Save the Date: East Region Pastoral Conference
Dates: October 22-23, 2024 (Tuesday-Wednesday)
Location and Accommodations: DeKoven Center, 600 21st Street, Racine, Wisconsin, 53403
Speakers: Dr. Oschwald will present on the Book of Acts. Dr. Jeffrey Oschwald is professor of Exegetical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
Dr. German will present on Luther and the Psalms. Dr. Brian German is associate professor and chairman of the Department of Theology at Concordia University Wisconsin. There will be plenty of learning, worship, good food, and fellowship to be had for all. The NID Care Team (Pastor Davies) will be available throughout the conference for discussion and prayerful contemplation.

61st Convention of the Northern Illinois District of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod
The 61st Convention will be held Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8, 2025 at Concordia University Chicago. Delegate, nomination, recommendation, and overture forms and information are now available.
Called Commissioned workers, those on Candidate status, and those called to RSOs: You are also required to register to attend as an advisory non-voting delegate. Have your home congregation pastor sign off on the delegate form.

Memorial Service for Pregnancy Loss/Infant Loss
A memorial service honoring the lives of babies gone too soon will be held in the chapel of Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 Route 47, Yorkville, Il 60560, on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Anyone who has experienced the loss of a baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, infant death, or abortion is welcomed to attend, no matter if that loss was recent or many years ago.
The service will conclude with the planting of flowers at the memorial site, "God's Garden for Little Ones," located 1/4 mile west of the church on Ament Road. Contact Cross’s church office at 630-553-7335 for more information or any questions.

Wrap up the Advent Season on Saturday, December 21, 2024 with an evening of entertainment featuring Tanner Olsen and Blake Flattley on their Advent Tour at Trinity Lutheran Church, 11500 German Church Road, Burr Ridge, IL 60527. Entertainment will begin at 4:30 p.m. with dinner to follow in the church basement.

St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 Jefferson St., Algonquin, IL 60102, recently launched the Gospel Justice Center, a faith-based initiative dedicated to providing affordable legal advice and guidance. The Gospel Justice Center aims to bridge the gap for those who lack access to legal support by offering justice with dignity, in alignment with their mission to serve both the body and soul.
