Bible Study

The pursuit of virtue seems to have little space in a world that nowadays seems to value pride, arrogance, and aggression, even rewarding those who practice such vices. As we live out the salvation Jesus has accomplished for us, what does it look like to live a Christlike life for the blessing of one’s neighbor? In the NID Bible study, “Fully Human: A Life of Christian Virtues,” participants take an in-depth look at four foundational Christian virtues.

Bible Study From the District Office Now Available: "Fully Human: A Biblical Pursuit of Virtue"

In “Fully Human: A Biblical Pursuit of Virtue,” we begin to take a look at four key virtues from the perspective of Scripture. We’ll look at how these virtues were seen in the lives of those in the times of Scripture who knew God’s grace, as well as how they are seen in the life of Christ Himself. We’ll also examine how these virtues are reflected in our own walk with our Savior.

The Workbook for the 61st Convention is available. The Workbook was emailed to all registered voting delegates.

We are asking that delegate forms be returned as soon as possible so that delegates will be able to receive convention updates as they are available.

Save the Date: The Katie Event

The Katie Event is an annual opportunity for LCMS Northern Illinois District pastors' wives and widows to gather for a day of fellowship and learning.

The planning committee for The Katie is currently working toward securing a speaker and determining all of the details of the day. However, we wanted to give you the opportunity to get next year's date on your calendar now.

We hope you will be able to join us on Saturday, October 4, 2025!

If you have never attended The Katie before, please consider it. If you know of other pastors' wives or widows who have not yet attended, encourage them to do so! There will be many more details to come.
