General Manager Eric Wilkinson announces retirement
   Northern Water General Manager Eric Wilkinson has announced he will retire in early 2018. He made the announcement to the Northern Water Board of Directors during the board's Sept. 14 meeting. 
   Wilkinson has spent 30 years at Northern Water, the past 24 as general manager. He is recognized as one of Colorado's leading water statesmen and is a past recipient of the Colorado Water Congress' Aspinall Award given to Colorado's water leader of the year.
State boards approve fish and wildlife plan for NISP

   Two state boards have agreed unanimously with Northern Water's Fish and Wildlife  Mitigation  and Enhancement Plan  for the Northern Integrated Supply Project and its associated Glade Reser voir northwe st of Fort Collins. 
   The Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission offered its approval on Sept. 7, and t he Colorado Water Conservation Board approved the plan on Sept. 20 . The plan provides for minimum Cache la Poudre River stream flows in Fort Collins for the first time as well as periodic pulse flows and other actions. The approvals are a key step towar d construction of the project.
Fall Water Users meeting
   Do you want to know more about the projects and operations of Northern Water now and into the future? You are invited to attend the annual Fall Water Users Meeting, Nov. 15, at the University Center on the campus of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Speakers from Northern Water and other organizations will talk about NISP, Chimney Hollow, deliveries through the Colorado-Big Thompson Project and more! Luncheon keynote speaker will be Jennifer Gimbel, Senior Water Policy Scholar at the Colorado Water Institute based at Colorado State University.
Chimney Hollow prep work advances with a boom!
   Contractors have started initial work on a quarry that will be used for materials associated with the new Chimney Hollow Reservoir. Construction on the dams for the reservoir, the main storage for the Windy Gap Firming Project, could begin as soon as late 2018 or early 2019. Northern Water Municipal Subdistrict will own and operate the reservoir in the valley west of Carter Lake. 
Board sets initial 2018 C-BT quota 
   Members of the Northern Water Board of Directors have set the initial quota for 2018 at 50 percent, matching the initial quotas set in the past several years. In addition, the board offered guidance for future allotment contract rates.

Todd Williams joins Board of Directors for Northern Water, Municipal Subdistrict; two members reappointed

   Todd Williams has joined the board of directors for Northern Water and its Municipal Subdistrict, representing Boulder County.
   Williams was appointed to the Northern Water and Municipal Subdistrict boards on Sept. 28, 2017. 
Williams is a fourth-generation Coloradan from the Longmont area. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering specializing in Water Resource Planning and Management from Colorado State University.
   In addition,  Director John Rusch (Morgan and Washington counties) and Director Bill Emslie (Larimer County) were reappointed by district court judges in their respective counties for additional four-year terms.
