Hello Northland Families!
As you know, we have been busy this summer preparing for our next school year. In addition to the exciting campus consolidation and renovation projects, we are delighted to introduce you to our outstanding new teachers. Please meet three more new faculty members below!
Josh Gentry
MS and HS Teacher: 8th grade Bible, 11th grade Boys Bible, Chaplain, MS Baseball Coach
Mr. Josh Gentry graduated from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Biblical Text with an emphasis in youth ministry and is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity. He will be joining Northland as a Bible teacher (8th grade and 11th grade boys) and Chaplain, and will also be coaching MS baseball.

“Since my late teens, I have felt called to work with teens and families. In my teens, my youth pastors loved and led me through some of the hardest years of my life when my best friend died in a car crash. This is the same passion and help which I long to bring to teens as they navigate the highs and the lows which the world brings us. Karl Barth famously said ‘Take your Bible and take your newspaper, and read both. But interpret newspapers from your Bible.’ This is what I long to teach teenagers to do. Interpret what is going on in the world through the lens of their faith.”
Vicki Hermsdorf
MS and HS Teacher: 8th grade IPC, 10th grade Chemistry, Honors Chemistry, Chemistry (AP and Regular)
A graduate of Northwestern State University with a BS in Chemistry and Mathematics and a minor in Physics, with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Rice University, Mrs. Vicki Hermsdorf brings her experience in the sciences to Northland this year. She will be teaching 8th grade IPC and both regular and AP Chemistry.

“I am very passionate about teaching chemistry because for me it shows the amazing omniscience and design of our Creator. I am excited about sharing my love for chemistry with students who want to learn about the intriguing world of chemistry and who can also appreciate its beauty and design.”
Karen Hogg
HS Teacher: Spanish 1
Mrs. Karen Hogg has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and Spanish from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. She will be joining Northland’s high school faculty, teaching three sections of Spanish 1.

“I am excited to be a part of the Northland Christian School community. I love teaching Spanish and look forward to teaching in an atmosphere where glorifying God is of the utmost importance. I am blessed to have taught and worked with students of all ages for almost three decades. Seeing the personal, and educational, growth in young people brings so much joy to my heart.”
