Greetings,
It was a fantastic first week at Northley. The students, staff, and community were welcoming and quickly made me feel at home. Reflecting on this week, it was one of my most enjoyable experiences in education. I feel fortunate and thankful for the opportunity to work with the amazing students and staff of NMS. Highlights from the week include meeting students and staff, observing learning occurring throughout the school, and catching activities such as the final week of spring sports and a PBIS Walk-A-Thon. Sixth and seventh grade had a CDT or Classroom Diagnostic Tools in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science. While the CDT is not new to students, it was the first time for Science. The CDT provide valuable data to our teaching and learning programs. On Wednesday, we invited all 5th grade parents to an information and transition night at NMS. The evening included presentations from Mr. Alutius, Mr. Buterbaugh, Ms. Martin, and Ms. Sayre on the 5th to 6th grade transition, and small group tours of the building. Our National Junior Honor Society did a fabulous of welcoming parents and leading tours during the evening.
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.
Sincerely,
Principal Ryan M. Buterbaugh
