Dear Families,
My first week at Northley has been incredible. From the very start, I have seen a school full of pride, positivity, and energy. The students have been respectful and responsible, and the staff has been welcoming and supportive. It is clear that Northley is a community where people care deeply about one another.
Before sharing some highlights, I want to remind everyone that Friday, September 26, will be a half day with dismissal at 10:48 AM. Please plan ahead for pickup and after-school arrangements.
Back-to-School Night was a highlight of the week. It was wonderful meeting so many families and seeing the strong parental involvement that helps our students succeed. Thank you for taking the time to be part of your child’s school experience.
We are now gearing up for Homecoming and Spirit Week, which runs from September 29 to October 3. Spirit Week will feature fun theme days:
-
Moving Monday – Wear sneakers and sweats for the Walk-A-Thon, and wear yellow to support Childhood Cancer Awareness.
-
Tropical Tuesday – Show off your best Hawaiian print shirt to say goodbye to summer.
-
Wacky Wednesday – Mismatched socks, mismatched clothes, or a funny (and appropriate) graphic T-shirt.
-
Jersday Thursday – Wear a jersey to support your favorite team. Even better if it’s a Northley one.
-
Friday Night Lights – Show your Vanguard pride in blue and gold.
To kick off the week, we will hold a PBIS Walk-A-Thon on Monday, September 29. Students are encouraged to bring cash donations to their homeroom teachers between September 22 and 29. Grade-level teams will compete in a Blue vs. Gold challenge, and the team that raises the most will earn a reward. As an added bonus, any student who donates five dollars or more will have the chance to kick a field goal on the Sun Valley football field.
For 8th Grade Families: We are excited to share that the annual Halloween Hayride at Arasapha Farms will take place on Thursday, October 16, from 5:30 to 8:30 PM. This event is for 8th grade students only and includes the Haunted Hayride, Bates Motel, and the Maze. More details on tickets, permission slips, and transportation will be coming home soon. Please be on the lookout for that information.
Flu Clinic Reminder: Our district will be hosting flu shot clinics on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The clinic is safe, professional, and provided at no out-of-pocket cost. Please see the flyer below for details on registration and consent forms.
Northley is off to a strong start. The culture here is something to be proud of, and I am excited to keep the momentum going all year long.
