Adult Bible Study Class will resume on Monday, June 30th at 7:00 pm. The next two weeks on July 7th and July 14th classes with be postpone while Pastor Ken is on vacation.

Our topic will be Today's cultural issues in relation to the Christian Church. Our current topic is Immigration and Race.

SCHOLARSHIP SPOTLIGHT

Liam Hill

Liam Hill is currently a PhD student in the Clinical Psychology program with a quantitative focus at Kent State University. He just finished his first year of a six-year program. He may also add a post-doc program.

Though his time is greatly limited he is a member of the Reformed University Fellowship (Presbyterian sponsored). He is also a member of the Orthodox Christian Fellowship where he has been offered an event coordinator position.

Upon receiving his PhD, he would like to go back to his undergraduate university, Grove City College and teach while doing cognitive assessments in the Pittsburgh area.

The question he chose was: What’s one gift that God has given you that you can use to benefit others. Below is a brief outtake.

I frequently engage in deep thought over Matthew 7:12 where Christ tells us to do unto others as you would have them do unto you. I take that as accepting someone without getting anything in return, avoiding a sort of transactional relationship, as no one really wants to have a relationship with someone that just wants something in return. I don’t want someone to give me something in return for the things I do for them. Christ’s life through the gospel is a recipe for loving and helping others. He offers us a way to eternal life with Him, taking us as we are with all our sins, all we have to do is accept the gift. So too with helping, listening to, and building relationships with others we should expect nothing in return and find happiness in our opportunity to serve.
