The computer then matches up pastors and churches based on certain common characteristics that the computer recognizes. The appropriately matched PIF's are sent to our Pastor Nominating Committee.
In addition, the General Presbyter may see something in a PIF that they think would be a good match for our congregation. The General Presbyter can then direct the computerized system to send that PIF to the Church. Candidates seeking a call can also review MIF's that may be of interest to them and they can self-refer to the Church.
Given the fact that we are close to the beginning of the month of August, it is unlikely that you will have a new pastor by Christmas, but there might be one here to begin the New Year. However it is a complex and lengthy process. It is impossible to predict timelines at this early stage. The matching of forms is only the very beginning. If your PNC likes a candidate on paper, it can take a while investigating that candidate in depth. that usually includes several interviews, and the PNC may choose to investigate and interview multiple candidates.
The PNC has a lot of work ahead of them. They need your prayers for discernment and endurance. The Holy Spirit will lead them on.
