A Word from Pastor Jim
As we move toward the close of the Easter Season we are continually reminded that our faith is always a faith rooted in new life and resurrection.
This day, May 13, is celebrated as Ascension Day, the day on which we celebrate the earthly departure of Jesus to return to his Father and prepare a place for us all.

As Jesus awaits our reunion with him, we are called to live out our lives as those who follow the path that he placed before us. Ascension Day is shortly followed by Pentecost in the church year. Jesus has left us here on earth to follow him, and the "church" is gifted with the presence and strength of the Spirit. We are ever to be alone. The Holy Spirit provides us with the strength and direction to come together as the assembly of Christ's own people and spread the Gospel within our homes, around our communities and throughout the world. May the blessings of the Holy Spirit continue to fill our lives and direct our ministry.

BOOK COLLECTION
After Don's passing, his caregiver, Juanita, donated five cartons of Don's books to the Calvary Book Sale.

Calvary felt it would be appropriate to offer these books from our beloved member to the congregation of Northminster first.
Now through the month of May the books will be on display in the Northminster counting/workroom right off of the church office. You can browse the books on Sunday or come up any time during office hours to see if there are any of interest to you. If you have questions, you can give Barb a call.

THE MINISTRY of NORTHMINSTER
MEALS for MARSHA
As many of you know, Marsha Mossgrove had a bad fall and has broken her right wrist. She's had surgery that included the insertion of a plate and nine pins. Marsha is right-handed and is very limited now in what she is able to do.
It would be a great help to her if some could provide meals for her and Charlie. The meals can be homemade or a restaurant delivery, whichever would work best for you.

Current openings are Wednesday, May 19, and Friday, May 21.

You can coordinate with Marsha if necessary, but a delivery between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. would be good. Meals on Monday, Wednesday and Friday should be enough to keep them stocked.

Thank you, Barb
