Scholarship Spotlight

Katie East

Katelyn East is attending The Ohio State University. She is working towards a bachelor’s degree in science and chemistry. This fall she will be entering her fourth-year mapped program. She id part of the American Chemical Society club on campus. Katie has been on the Dean’s list for all six semesters she has completed. After graduation she plans to go directly into industry work, focusing on analytical chemistry research and development.

The question Katie chose was: What’s one time when you knew God was working in your life?

Below is a brief outtake:

One of the best gifts that God has given me is empathy. The ability to have a deep connection with those around me and show them love and compassion is something that helps me to spread light into the world and show the love that God has instilled in us all. As I grow and begin to understand more about scripture and the teachings, I hope to find more ways that I can use my gifts to spread God’s love throughout our communities, and the whole world.
