BUILDING USE
CHANGES ARE COMING!
With the lifting of COVID restrictions in the State of Ohio expected on June 2, the Northminster Session will be meeting to decide how to move forward as a church.
Most of us want to return to normal as soon as possible, but we also want to respect those who may continue to be concerned about the virus despite the easing of restrictions. Your session will communicate guidance on our church services and building use requirements by the end of May prior to the anticipated June 2 change.

Until further notice these requirements remain in place
for all in-person services:

RESERVATIONS ARE STRONGLY RECOMMENDED*
You may attend without a reservation, but preference will be shown to those who register prior to the service.
SEATING IS LIMITED to DESIGNATED AREAS
SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE OBSERVED
Family units may sit together.
MASKS ARE REQUIRED

IF YOU ARE NOT READY for IN-PERSON,
THE SERVICE WILL CONTINUE TO BE STREAMED ONLINE

*Call or email the church office to
make your reservations.

NO OTHER MEETINGS WILL BE HELD ON
PROPERTY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Tune in to the Virtual Service at 10:30 a.m. by going to the Northminster website and clicking on the Join Us for Worship tab.
A Word from Pastor Jim
As we approach the Sunday of Pentecost, we need to remember that the gift of the Spirit, which Jesus promised to his followers, brings new life to dried bones.
In addition to the story of the Pentecost in Acts, we also read the story of Ezekiel and the dry bones. The prophet had given up hope of restoring the faith of Israel into a living faith. People thought he was foolish. He wanted to call them back to repentance and forgiveness in order to set them free for new life. The Lord taught the prophet what the Lord himself could do with those with a dried up faith, and the prophet went back and awakened the dead faith of the people.

In the Acts story the Spirit comes upon the disciples and the whole assembled body of people and fills them with a new, living faith. They are not simply filled with some form of "personal" faith. They are filled with the courage and conviction to go out from there and tell the story of our resurrected Lord and what his living presence means for us. People thought they were drunk or at least foolish. That same Spirit is still here with us today, and that same Spirit brings vitality to our faith.

We preach a risen Lord, a foolish stumbling block in the eyes of the world. Because he lives we also live. As Paul tells us, "God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength." (1 Cor. 1:25).

Blessings,
Pastor Jim
