THIS SUNDAY at NORTHMINSTER
WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
March is Women's History month. How much do you know about some of the women in history who have reframed and renewed our faith? There have been many, both before and since the Reformation.
I am uneasy about relegating women's history to a single month out of the year, but it is a good time to remind ourselves that we need to be working harder throughout the year to know the stories of women who have followed faithfully in the way of Jesus.

Here are a few names you might want to look up: Perpetua and Felicity; Hildegard of Bingen; Catherine of Siena; Julian of Norwich; Teresa of Avila; Susanna Wesley; Hannah More; Lucretia Mott; Sojourner Truth; Harriet Beecher Stowe.

The list could go on and on and certainly there are many 20th Century women who have also had important impacts on our society and our church. Hildegard and Teresa are two of my favorites. You might even find Hildegard's name in the Presbyterian hymnbook.

Women have been leaders in the church and shapers of the faith since the very beginning. Their authority and leadership must always be recognized and respected.

Have a blessed week.
Pastor Jim

Please make note that I may have to adjust hours on those two days. If I come in later in the day, I will respond to any emails or phone messages as soon as I arrive.
