THIS SUNDAY at NORTHMINSTER

HOLY COMMUNION this SUNDAY
I hope that you are all staying warm and safe in this winter freeze. I heard this morning that we have had 12 days of temperatures below freezing. When I lived in Minnesota we had over 40 consecutive days when we awoke to minus 20 degrees! Despite the weather our worship activities go on.
This coming Sunday, February 21, is the first Sunday in Lent and we shall celebrate the sacrament of Holy Communion. Since most of you will be at home, I'd like to suggest that you have a drink (juice or whatever you have available) and a piece of bread or a cracker ready s that we can share together the actions of our collective communion service.

Even in "virtual reality" we can share the elements and know that the Spirit is with us, blessing whatever elements we may have and nourishing us with sacrifice and love of our living Lord.

As we enter the Lenten Season I'd like to recommend that yo spend just 20 minutes a day reading scriptures of your choice and reflecting on the enormity of God's love for you. You are truly God's beloved.

Pastor Jim
