Dear NCS Family:

We are very excited for the start of 2020-21!  While we continue in making final plans for a safe and in-person return to school on August 11, we should tell you our school year will not look as it normally does.  To protect our students, faculty and staff during this ever-changing pandemic, we are making our back-to-school plan with changes from our Northpoint “normal.”  These changes are not made easily.

We are aware as soon as our Northpoint Family reads the attached plan, we will have some happy parents, and some not-so-happy parents. We cannot, and will not, make everyone happy.  After weeks of careful researching, talking with healthcare professionals, consulting with peer independent/Christian schools in Memphis and the mid-south, and remaining in constant prayer, we are ready to release our return-to-school plan. Our decisions are in the best interest of YOU, our NCS Family.  Please know our decisions are also made with the primary goal of returning and staying in school for in-person learning.

We believe there is no greater time to be a member of our Northpoint Family than right now! Smaller classrooms, and greater interaction with faculty and staff has never been more important. And never have we needed daily reminders that God is in control, more than right now, during the uncertainty of this pandemic. We are thankful to have this year with our students reminding them, "Do not be afraid, God is with us!"

We ask you to read through the attached information and begin talking to your student(s). Encourage them to embrace these changes. As Christians, we are called to “Be subject to the governing authorities” Romans 13:1, to “count others more significant than yourselves” (Philippians 2:3), “not to quarrel over opinions” (Romans 14:1), to “look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others,” Philippians 2:3, to “not insist on your own way” (1Corinthians 13:5), and to give up freedom for the sake of others (1 Corinthians 8:13).

Take the weekend and think on any additional questions you may have. We have created an email address for additional COVID-19 related questions. Those may be sent to covidquestion@ncstrojans.com   Each question will be answered as quickly as possible by the administrator best prepared to answer the question.

Lastly, we ask you to be flexible as this pandemic continues to change daily and weekly. As always, we ask you to pray over our students, faculty, staff and school.  We appreciate your continued support as we work to safely re-open school.

We can't wait to welcome everyone "home" on August 11! We ARE going to have a great year! We have missed you.

Sincerely,

Jim Ferguson
