FIRST DAY HIKE
Start 2020 off on the right foot at Maybury State Park!

Start your New Year off on the right foot! Run, walk, snowshoe or X-country ski.
Families, dogs on leashes, kids, everyone welcome! The Friends of Maybury and REI will be hosting a casual, fun hike to get your new year started off right. The hike will leave the building at 10am sharp.  Dress appropriately for the weather, including warm hiking boots.  Enjoy a roaring fireplace, with hot chocolate and coffee after the hike. This program is FREE, however a Recreation Passport is required for park entry.
Recreation Passports can be purchased when renewing your license plate tabs or at any state park office.

BECOME A MASTER RAIN GARDENER!
A Friends of the Rouge Opportunity

During class, you will…
  • Design your own rain garden step-by-step
  • Receive friendly encouragement each step of the way from course instructors, past graduates, and fellow students
  • Become your neighborhood’s expert on rain gardens!

Time : 9am - noon
Dates : February 15, 22, 29, March 7 and March 17

Participants must attend all fice classes and plant or adopt a rain garden to earn their certificate, garden sign and t-shirt.

Christmas Tree Pick-Up will take place December 26-January 13 . If you had a holiday tree in your home over 6 feet tall, please cut it in half before placing it at the curb.
