YOUR INPUT IS NEEDED!
WEEKLY OR BY-WEEKLY RECYCLING?
Northville Township is looking into switching to a weekly recycling pick-up for residents and want to know what you think!

Northville Township currently has an amended solid waste services contract with GFL through June 2022. Through mutual agreement between the Township and GFL, the contract can be amended to add weekly recycling. The estimated cost increase to add weekly recycling for residents would be $2 a month or $24 a year. Northville Township is currently on a bi-weekly schedule for recycling. We have received feedback from residents (and did a poll on facebook) about adding weekly recycling, but wanted to see how many residents are interested in switching. If you receive a water bill, a survey card will be mailed to you in April with your bill. Please fill it in and send it back! If you do not receive a water bill or would rather fill it out online, you are welcome to complete the survey here . It will be open until May 7.

If you have more questions or need additional information, please contact our Communications Department at 248.662.0504 or socialmedia@twp.northville.mi.us .
Thanks for your input!

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE!
The weather is finally getting warmer and with it, your lawn might soon begin to grow! We thought it would be the perfect time to remind you of the lawn watering regulations (Lawn Watering Ordinance) for Northville Township.

  • Any Northville Township home that has an underground irrigation system must limit the hours of this system’s usage to between the hours of 12 a.m. (midnight) and 6 a.m.

  • Homes that manually irrigate lawns and gardens must not water during the hours of 6 a.m. – 10 a.m.

  • All underground irrigation systems can only be used on days that coincide with their house numbers. Odd numbered homes (homes ending in 1, 3, 5, 7 or 9) can irrigate on odd dates and even addressed homes (ending in 0, 2, 4, 6 or 8) can water on even dates.

  • Your adherence to this ordinance will help us to reduce the Township’s peak hour water usage and thereby reduce the rate we are charged by the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA).

  • A $300 fine will be levied against residents who do not abide by these regulations.

  • Repeat offenders of this ordinance will be charged $500 and charges will increase every day that an offense is made. Additional fees to cover the cost of sanctions will also be charged.
