THE CONSERVANCY INITIATIVE SEEKS RESIDENT VOLUNTEERS INTERESTED IN ARBOR HILL LANDFILL

The Conservancy Initiative, a group focused on the environmental compliance of the Arbor Hills Landfill and its effects on our community, wants to deepen its volunteer ranks with passionate individuals and fresh ideas.

It’s establishing a community group who will periodically meet with landfill management and possibly representatives from Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE) and communicate current findings back to the community.

One venue to do that is at Northville Township Board of Trustee meetings at 7 pm the third Thursday of every month at Township Hall. A landfill report is one of our standing agenda items that’s typically among the first reports of the meeting. It’s an opportune time to inform fellow residents and Board members of any Arbor Hills’ violations or progress.

NORTHVILLE TOWNSHIP WANTS YOUR INPUT

Northville Township invites all residents, employees, and others who spend time in the Township to give their feedback about our community at the upcoming Master Plan Forum. This forum will provide introductory information and allow community members to provide key input on how the Township can develop moving forward, what they love about the Township, challenges you think the community faces, and a vision for the future to help guide the Master Plan effort.

The forum will be held on Monday, September 19, from 5:30-7:30 pm in the Lower Level Training Room at Township Hall, located at 44405 Six Mile Road. A presentation will be given at 6:15 pm and stations with more information will be available throughout the meeting for your review and input.

NO WIPES IN THE PIPES

Northville Township Public Services would like to remind you to keep wipes out of the pipes.

Disposable wipes, even if labeled "flushable," are not flushable and have been known to clog pipes, resulting in major sewage backups. Protect your pipes by disposing these items in the trash, not the toilet:

  • Sanitary wipes
  • Feminine hygiene products
  • Facial tissues
  • Paper towels
  • Dental floss
  • Cotton swabs
  • Cat litter
  • Cigarette butts
