Dear Northway Friends,
I’m writing this as we are waiting for departure as our three week adventure (vacation) begins so I’ll be brief. I know many of you are also looking forward to trips and vacations or even stay-cations. Camps for kids - science camps, athletic camps, scout camps, drama camps … opportunities to meet new friends and gain new insights to the world around us. Summers for Northway folk include youth mission trips, hosting “Be the Neighbor” groups, church camps, VBS, Mobile Food Pantry on Tuesdays, Diapers on 4th Saturdays, the Seeds of Faith Garden on Saturdays… sometimes hard, hot, work - but it’s Good Work! Food for the spirit and a gentle reminder of how privileged we are to have God in our lives.
As fun, exciting and meaningful as these experiences are, God reminds us - Remember the Sabbath, give yourself the grace of peaceful reflection and “down” time. Take a walk, read a book, call an old friend, watch a movie, ride a bike, go for a drive in the country … or my personal favorite, take a nap! Afterwards, take a moment to give thanks, open that line of communication with our creator God - this has only been going on for millenia and it’s a good idea! Share your thoughts with God, he’s been right there with you all along!
You know the LORD is God! He created us, and we belong to him;
we are his people, the sheep in his pasture.
For the LORD is good; His mercy and loving kindness are everlasting,
His faithfulness [endures] to all generations.

Jazz Trio This Sunday - June 8
This Sunday, June 8, our 10:30 am worship service will feature a jazz trio leading us in song!
Come and celebrate Pentecost, and stay briefly after worship to hear the jazz trio play some favorites!

Pentecost Special Offering - June 8
The Pentecost Offering supports Disciples new church development. Planning, nurturing and sustaining new congregation is part of the Disciples’ vision. This offering supports the specialized ministry of new church development through both regional and general programs. Gifts for this offering are divided equally between the region in which they’re given and the New Church Ministry. Click here to contribute.

Summer Choir Begins June 15
You're invited to join us for Summer Choir on Sundays from June 15 – July 6. Anyone of youth age and older may participate. Meet in the choir loft at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 15, and we will prepare a song to be sung during the 10:30 am worship service.
There will be no Wednesday rehearsals and we will not wear robes. Come as you are and join us for Summer Choir on one Sunday, or all!

| | | Greetings Adult Sunday School! | | |
Summer is upon us, and we haven’t really had time to have all of our Adult Sunday School Classes gather as one this year. So, we are going to do that during July and the first half of August!
All Adult Sunday School classes will meet in F-101 on Sundays beginning July 6 and continuing through August 10. We’ll take the first Sunday to reflect on our classes and check in on what we hope for the coming school year. Then, we’ll take a cue from our youth and study what they are studying! We’ll spend three weeks learning about Freedom in Jesus and what that means. Then, we’ll spend some time considering community: how we build it, how we sustain it, and why it matters.
I’m excited to be leading this and to give our leaders a bit of a summer break. I hope to see you there!
