Beginning May 31st, we will have our Summer Intergenerational Forum during the Sunday School hour. We'll be utilizing the L.I.V.E. method from The Barefoot Way: A Faith Guide for Youth, Young Adults, and the People Who Walk with Them by Dorie Grinenko Baker. This is a simple method of storytelling that invites people to listen and to share stories of personal encounters with the Holy.
Baker describes this work in her conclusion:
"Each of us is the pen with which God is writing a fifth Gospel, Judith Siqueira says. If that's true, God's story isn't finished. There are moments in our own lives when God continues to reveal God's self. These are our "little Gospels." When we cultivate an awareness of them, we are apt to begin finding them more often.
We will follow this four-step template together in hopes of getting to know both God and each other better. Each week, we will hear one or two short, personal stories from one of our own folks. We'll listen and think of a time we've felt or experienced something similar. We'll look to scripture and see where our written text might relate to or instruct us. We'll look at how we might see God or how we might be the hands and feet of Jesus in the coming week. We'll practice all of this, school aged kids and adults, together!
I hope this will be an exciting and sweet start to our summer together!
See you in church!
