Member Highlight: Fort Walton Machining
Fort Walton Machining, Inc. was formed in 1987 as a special custom manufacturing operation, specifically serving Eglin Air Force Base and its prime contractors. Since its inception, Fort Walton Machining has grown from two to 200 employees, but its mission remains the same: to provide highly technical, zero-defects precision machining, delivered on time to its customers’ complete satisfaction. Certified to AS9100 Quality Standards, as well as government and military quality standards MIL I 45208A, the company was heavily involved in the Air Force AMRAAM project from 1991 to 1993. Following a 1995 business alliance with a major medical industry corporation, the company gained further business with associates in the British Isles and Japan.

Fort Walton Machining is a woman-owned business that offers precision machining, custom machining, CNC machining, and precision CNC machining. As a recognized leader in the manufacturing and assembly of custom designed, precision-machined parts, Fort Walton Machining plays an extensive role in our region’s economy.

MAF Award Nominations
MAF is seeking nominations for its annual Manufacturers and Distributors of the Year competition. Companies are judged on seven criteria: leadership, strategic planning, customer and market focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce focus, and process management.

"MAF is about promoting the manufacturing industry statewide, and we have always had a strong foundation in integrity and excellence. We expect the same of our industry representatives and the Manufacturer and Distributor of the Year program has always been an in-depth analysis of what makes a company truly successful. For many years, MAF has taken pride in our manufacturers and we will continue to recognize and honor those who rise to the top," said Al Stimac, MAF President.

Additionally, MAF will award the 2017 Seal of Excellence to member finalists, recognizing their contributions to the industry. Nominations will accepted until July 31, 2017.
