Dr. Carri Eddy named executive director of student services
At a special board meeting on Aug. 6, the Northwest ISD
Board of Trustees approved the naming of Carri Eddy, Ed.D., as the new executive director of student services.
Dr. Eddy currently serves as the principal of V.R. Eaton High School, which she opened in 2015. Previously, she has served in Rockwall ISD as the director of secondary campus services and principal of Utley Middle School. Dr. Eddy has also worked in Forney ISD and Mesquite ISD as a teacher, high school assistant principal, fine arts coordinator, registrar and safety officer.
"I am excited to begin this new position with the school district," Dr. Eddy said. "I will miss my Eaton High School community and will always be an Eagle at heart. I look forward to working with all of the campuses in Northwest ISD as we prepare students to be ready for all life has to offer."
Dr. Eddy earned her doctorate and master's degree in education administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She holds a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Texas at Arlington. Dr. Eddy was named a "Top 5 Finalist" for the HEB Excellence in Education Award for Secondary Principal of the Year during the 2012-13 school year.
She will assume her new role in central administration immediately while assisting with the transition at Eaton High School. The district has begun the search for her replacement at Eaton and intends to name its new principal at the Aug. 13 school board meeting. Families will be notified as soon as the replacement has been approved by the school board.
