Secondary school times change this year
In an effort to ease traffic around campuses, middle school and high school schedules will shift to provide more space between the start and dismissal times for each. As previously announced, this means middle school start and dismissal times will move back five minutes while start and dismissal times at comprehensive high schools will move forward 10 minutes.

NISD middle schools will now start at 8:55 a.m. and dismiss at 4:15 p.m. NISD comprehensive high schools will start at 8:30 a.m. and dismiss at 3:50 p.m. Steele Early College High School will start at 8:20 a.m. and dismiss at 3:40 p.m
New requirement added for NISD volunteers
The successes of Northwest ISD would not be possible without the dedication of the volunteers who sacrifice their valuable time and efforts in support of NISD. We constantly strive to develop and maintain a culture that promotes volunteerism within our district and campuses. Volunteers help our classroom teachers by allowing them to focus on what is most important, TEACHING!

For the 2023-2024 school year, a new step has been added to the process of becoming a volunteer. After completing the volunteer application, potential volunteers must now also complete Volunteer 101, a self-paced, online orientation. For more information, please visit www.nisdtx.org/volunteer.
Date changed for upcoming board meeting
The next scheduled Northwest ISD Board of Trustees meeting has been moved to Tuesday, August 15. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the NISD Board Room located inside the NISD Administration Building at 2001 Texan Drive in Justin.
NISD breaks ground on Perrin Elementary
Northwest ISD recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for Alan and Andra Perrin Elementary School, the district’s 23rd elementary school. Located in the Wildflower Ranch community, construction is now officially underway with the campus scheduled to open in August 2024.

Members of the Perrin family, district leadership, future Perrin Elementary students and construction partners were on hand to celebrate the occasion. For a complete album of photos from the ceremony, visit the NISD Flickr page.

Trustees tour Northwest High renovations
One of Northwest ISD's biggest construction projects is currently underway in the heart of the Northwest High School campus, with renovations opening in phases through 2025. On average, 250 workers are on campus every day of the week to get portions of the renovation ready for students to utilize on August 16!

Earlier this week, Trustees and Superintendent Dr. Mark Foust got a tour of all ongoing renovations, including academic spaces and offices that are scheduled to open later this month.

You can check out all of the photos on NISD Flickr page. Learn more about all of NISD's construction projects at www.nisdtxconstruction.org.
