Willson Student Ends Summer as a NASA Graduate
Sophia Bacon’s lifelong love for space has recently become a reality.

Over her summer break, the seventh grader at Truett Wilson Middle School attended and graduated from Space Academy at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama.

“What was once a small love for science and space has now super-novaed into a giant love,” Sophia said. “I am so blessed that I've had this experience that furthered my love of space.”
More Than 1,300 Students Served at Back-to-School Fair
This past weekend, NISD held the district's annual Back-to-School Fair event that aims to ensure every child is equipped with what they need to be successful on their first day of school.

At the fair, held at Hatfield Elementary School, each child in need had access to a backpack and set of district-approved school supplies. Each student also had the opportunity to take advantage of free provided resources such as dental screenings, vision screenings, haircuts, hearing screenings, sports physicals, and access to community health information while also getting the opportunity to get to know more than 30 local resource providers.

Please visit the district's YouTube account for a full recap of the day's events.

Thank you to all who collaborated and volunteered to make this year's event so successful!
