Volunteers help sort Virtual Angel Tree gifts

Community support helps hundreds of students in need

Thanks to Northwest ISD's community, roughly 1,000 students in need will receive gifts this holiday season. Through the Virtual Angel Tree, local residents donated thousands of gifts to help make the holidays brighter for these students.

The gifts are now being delivered, following the help of dozens of volunteers who organized and delivered them. Thanks to everyone who contributed!
Northwest ISD named to national AP District Honor Roll list
AP College Board logo

The College Board has named Northwest Independent School District to the organization's 9th annual AP District Honor Roll, making it one of just 373 school districts across the United States and Canada to receive the prestigious honor.

Each year, the College Board compiles its AP District Honor Roll based on high-achieving factors such as AP test scores and participation rates in rigorous AP courses. Many colleges grant a student who earns a 3 or better on an AP test - one of the factors in the District Honor Roll - with class credit. To learn more about the honor, click here.

Runners begin the Reindeer Romp

Our 11th annual Reindeer Romp takes place this Saturday! The annual 5K race and 1-mile fun run takes place at Alliance Airport on Dec. 8, with the latter beginning at 8:30 a.m. and the former beginning at 9 a.m. All proceeds from the event benefits district P.E. programs. Learn about school finance

Did you know that taxpayer funding sent to school districts and recaptured by the state doesn't have to go to other school districts? Taxpayer funds intended for education instead can and are used by the Legislature to fund other areas of the state's budget, too.
