Eaton HS Volleyball Advances to Regional Final
Eaton High School’s volleyball team continues to advance in the 6A UIL state tournament and will compete in the Regional Final game for the first time in school history. The Eaton Eagles will face the Flower Mound Jaguars at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City. Tickets will be sold at the door.

The Eagles, with a record of 18-2, are ranked No. 2 among 6A schools in Texas (only behind Flower Mound) and No. 39 nationally. The winner will advance to the state championships and compete in the state semifinal game Dec. 7 or 8.
Free Meals for K-8th Graders Through May
Northwest ISD Food Services will continue to offer free breakfast and lunch to all NISD elementary and middle school students thanks to a program by the USDA. 

NISD's free-meals-for-all (grades K-8, plus full-day PreK) began on September 21. Regardless of income and eligibility, the USDA's Summer Meal Program has been extended through May to help ensure children have access to nutritious food.
Registration Ends Soon For Reindeer Romp
Registration is still available for the 2020 NISD Reindeer RompThe race is being held virtually, with participants running the race when and where they choose between now and December 12.

Packet pick up will take place on December 9 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the NISD Athletic Offices.
Steele High School Enrollment Now Open
The enrollment request window for NISD’s Steele Accelerated High School is now open for the Spring 2021 semester. Students interested in attending Steele Accelerated High School must submit an enrollment request form by December 16.

Accepted students may begin attending Steele High School in January 2021.
Northwest High School FFA Students Didn't Let COVID-19 Stop Their Competition Season
Northwest High School FFA students competed in a virtual leadership development event on Nov. 18, adapting their presentations and talents to suit a competition that’s normally hosted in person.

As part of the Texas FFA Chapter, LDE competitions encourage members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and their knowledge of agriculture and the FFA organization. Team and individual events are used to reinforce what is taught in agricultural science classrooms.

Various NISD student-led enterprises — including Byron Bistro, Eaton Floral Expressions and Northwest Texan Designs — are now open to the general public.

AlphaBest Education Open for Holiday Break
AlphaBest, NISD's after school program provider, will be open on specific days throughout the holiday break.

AlphaBest will provide full-day care for elementary-aged students. Daily schedules include enrichment activities, physical fitness sessions and a morning and afternoon snack.
