Enjoy your Spring Break; early release tomorrow

Have a great spring break! All Northwest ISD students will have spring break from March 16 to 24 before resuming classes on Wednesday, March 25. Additionally, this Friday, March 13, all schools will operate on early-release schedules.

For tomorrow's early release day, elementary schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m., middle schools will dismiss at 12:55 p.m. and high schools will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. (Steele ECHS at 12:20 p.m.).

Please be aware that while staff will be at schools on March 23 and 24, responses may be delayed as professional development will take place to prepare for the return of students.

Lottery applications for tuition-based pre-K open March 25

Northwest ISD will open its annual lottery system on March 25 for admission into the district’s tuition-based pre-kindergarten program for the 2026-2027 school year. Families will have the opportunity to apply until April 8. In Texas, schools only receive funding to operate pre-K facilities if a student qualifies for the state-funded program or if the district accepts tuition for those who do not. For more information, read this news article.

Prepare for online enrollment by accessing HAC

In preparation for online enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opening on Wednesday, April 1, families are encouraged to ensure they know the login information for their parent/guardian Home Access Center accounts. As with previous years, online enrollment will be accessible only through the parent/guardian HAC account, not the student account. Families who experience issues logging in should contact their school's front office for assistance.

Online enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year opens for families of both new and returning students on April 1. For families of returning students, most information will be pre-filled with the current information on file for their children. Northwest ISD strongly encourages families to enroll as early as possible, as this helps schools more accurately project their enrollment figures and any adjustments to the number of teachers needed, limiting the class balancing that takes place after the school year begins.

NISD dancers take center stage

Dancers from throughout Northwest ISD took center stage at the NISD Dance Showcase earlier this week!

Held at Texan Gym, the showcase featured performances from each comprehensive high school's varsity dance squad -- the Bobcat Dazzlers (Byron Nelson), Sapphires (Eaton) and Sidekicks (Northwest).  The showcase also included performances from high school sub-varsity and middle school squads.

Educators from across nation visit Seven Hills Elementary

The Seven Hills Elementary Wolves welcomed educators from all around the nation to their campus for a one-of-a-kind showcase of all things Leader in Me! 🐺💙❤️

As a Lighthouse School, Seven Hills has demonstrated a high standard of excellence in implementing the Leader in Me model, and recently they welcomed visitors who were attending the Leader in Me Symposium in Dallas.

Educators were greeted with an energetic welcome, student-led campus tours, student-led demonstrations, a teacher panel, and even a sneak peek of the Wolves' upcoming 4th-grade musical!

Seniors and kindergartners come together as part of new tradition

The Northwest High School Class of 2026 went back to kindergarten earlier this week! The Class of 2038 drew portraits and wrote advice for the soon-to-be graduates, then presented their gifts as NHS seniors visited kindergarten classes at their local elementary schools!

Pictured here are scenes from Justin Elementary School where the new friends also had time to play together!

Thanks for a great Expo 2026

Northwest ISD’s annual Expo showcase included hundreds of students presenting their school projects to friends, family and community members! Expo provides students the opportunity to present their educational projects and communicate their innovative ideas. See photos from the event on the district’s Flickr gallery.

NEF and Pogue Construction deliver more than 2,000 books to NISD kindergarten students

NEF was thrilled to deliver a special surprise to our kindergarten students through Kinder Club! Every kindergarten student in Northwest ISD received their very own copy of Jabari Tries by Gaia Cornwall – 2, 275 books in total – to take home and build their very own library.

Thanks to our generous sponsor Pogue Construction, this story about perseverance and courage is now in the hands of every NISD kindergartener. Even better... bilingual kindergarten classrooms also received a Spanish copy to ensure all of our young readers can enjoy the story at home.

Thank you, Pogue Construction and our volunteers who helped deliver the books, for helping us encourage literacy and spark a love of reading in our youngest learners!

Help the NEF Resource Store and Library

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation’s resource store and library provides support to NISD teachers and students through free resources and educational materials. NISD teachers can “shop” for school and classroom supplies, snack packs, books and more. All items are free to district educators! Already this year, more than 1,500 teachers have shopped the store at its new location and saved more than $930,000!

You can help by donating from the store’s online wishlist or the library wishlist. Immediate needs include books and snacks. You can also help by volunteering in the store! Volunteers help sticker and prep inventory, restock shelves and fulfill online requests from teachers.

Mobile Food Pantry set for March 21

The NISD monthly Mobile Food Pantry is open monthly at Pike Middle School (2288 Texan Drive, Justin, 76247). Attendees can enter Texan Drive from FM 156 or TX 114. The Pike Middle School entrance is across the street from the NISD Administration Building. The pantry is a drive-thru service. Attendees should remain in their vehicle at all times, and food pantry staff will assist in the loading process.

The Mobile Food Pantry is a partnership between Northwest ISD, Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Northwest ISD Education Foundation. It is open on the third Saturday of each month from 9 to 11 a.m. or until food runs out.
