Summer Opportunity Highlight

Creative Problem-Solving (DI) Camp

Join us at Creative Problem-Solving Camp the week of June 17. Students will work in teams to find a creative solution to a challenging situation. They'll have the chance to write a script, build a set, create pops, and design costumes, all culminating in a showcase.

This camp is open to students just finishing 3rd - 8th grades. Our Camp Director has been involved with Destination Imagination for decades and is fresh off a trip to Global Finals in Kansas City. She and her team of camp teachers have put together a week full of fun and creativity that your child won't want to miss out on.

Free summer meals begin next week

Northwest ISD will again offer free summer meals to children who are ages 18 or younger as well as students with disabilities who are ages 21 and younger as part of the federal Summer Food Service Program.

The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is a U.S. Department of Agriculture nutrition program administered by the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). For the children who rely on school meals during the academic year, these meals offer a source of good nutrition when school is out for the long summer vacation.

Meals will be served June 5-30 at Prairie View and Clara Love elementary schools. Click here for more information, including serving times.

New campuses opening in 2024-2025

When students return to campus for the 2024-2025 school year on Wednesday, August 15, many will do so in new campuses.

The new Gene Pike Middle School will replace the existing campus almost entirely, with the new building being located next to the existing building’s current location. Upon completion, the existing building will be removed, though some athletic facilities will be retained.

Alan and Andra Perrin Elementary School will open its doors in August and become the district's 23rd elementary school. Located in the Wildflower Ranch master-planned community off S.H. 114, the school's colors will be orange and teal, and the mascot will be the Panthers.

Conner won gold medals in the 2A UIL Chemistry and UIL Physics competitions. He also placed third overall in UIL Science while Yash Gupta placed third in UIL Chemistry.

The pair were part of Steele ECHS’ four-student science team that took home the silver medal. Conner and Yash were joined on the team by Lucas Hawkins and Conner Hallock.

Help restock immediate needs in the NEF Resource Store and Library

The Northwest ISD Education Foundation’s resource store and library provides support to NISD teachers and students through free resources and educational materials. NISD teachers can “shop” for school and classroom supplies, snack packs, books and more. All items are free to district educators! This school year, NEF has served more than 1,290 educators and distributed more than 20,000 books to support classrooms from across the district!

You can help by donating from the store’s online wishlist. Immediate needs include elementary books, snacks, binders, expo markers and college-ruled composition books. You can also help by volunteering in the store! Volunteers help sticker and prep inventory, restock shelves and fulfill online requests from teachers.
