Monday is a district holiday, next Friday is last day of school year
This coming Monday, May 27, is a district holiday in observance of Memorial Day. Additionally, next week is the last week of the 2018-19 school year, with Friday, May 31, serving as the final day. On both this day and Thursday, May 30, schools will operate on early-release schedules.
Rhett King to coordinate student services, Justin Vercher to lead Tidwell

Following the conclusion of the 2018-19 school year, Dr. Rhett King, current principal of Tidwell Middle School, will move to a role coordinating student services for Northwest ISD. In his place, the district has named Justin Vercher, current principal of Peterson Elementary School, to lead Tidwell. A search for Mr. Vercher's replacement at Peterson is now underway.
Graduation live streams available for those who can't attend
Comprehensive high schools will hold graduation ceremonies on June 3 at the University of North Texas Coliseum at the following times: Eaton at 10 a.m., Northwest at 2 p.m. and Byron Nelson at 6 p.m. Steele Accelerated High School's graduation will take place 7 p.m. May 31 at Northwest High School's Vernon Solomon Performing Arts Center. All ceremonies will be livestreamed, with links to each stream available in a news article on the district homepage closer to the ceremonies.
Northwest thrower, Byron Nelson sprinter earn state medals
Congratulations to Northwest's Cooper McDonald and Byron Nelson's Calvin Wiggins Jr. for earning medals at the UIL Track & Field State Meet! Cooper earned a gold and became a state champion in the 5A boys discus throw, while Calvin earned a silver in the 6A boys 200-meter dash.
Registration for 2019-20 school year ongoing
Registration for the 2019-20 school year is now open! For families of returning students, emails were sent out in mid-April with a link and "snap code" to register their children for the upcoming school year. Clicking on this link will have most information already filled out for each child (and separate emails will be sent for families with multiple students). Families who will be new to the district can enroll online for the upcoming year as well.

Summer camp registrations open

Dozens of camps for students will take place this summer across Northwest ISD, providing academic, athletic and fine arts opportunities. While some camps will open registration closer to the end of the school year, many camps are now open for registration. For academic camps, click here. AlphaBEST offering summer services after school year concludes
AlphaBEST, Northwest ISD's after-school care provider, will continue offering services after the school year concludes. Summer camp hosted by AlphaBEST lasts from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The service is open to all elementary students who are at least 5 years old and are no further in school than entering sixth grade.
NEF dollar drive taking place to raise funds for scholarships, grants

Parents and guardians enrolling their children for 2019-20 can take part in the NEF Dollar Drive by making a tax-deductible donation during the registration process. NEF raises funds for student scholarships and teaching grants, with the funding going directly back to these Northwest ISD initiatives.
