Northwest ISD Offices Closed July 5-9
Northwest ISD offices will be closed July 5-9 in celebration of Independence Day. District offices will reopen on Monday, July 12. 
Summer Learning Spotlight
Monster Sculpture Camp
Students attending the Monster Sculpture Camp this month worked with recycled materials and plaster to design, build and paint a creature from their imagination. Students used different art techniques to sketch their monster, sculpt it and design scenery for it.

Anthony Tosie Named
Executive Director of Communications
Mr. Anthony Tosie has been named the new Executive Director of Communications for Northwest ISD following a unanimous vote by the district’s Board of Trustees at the June 28 board meeting. Tosie will begin his new role in mid-July.

Mr. Tosie rejoins Northwest ISD after serving as Director of Communications for Lake Dallas ISD for the past year, bringing more than nine years of experience in public relations and education to his new role. As the district’s executive director of communications, Mr. Tosie will be responsible for district-level communication services, including print and electronic communications, media relations, community relations, district partnerships and special events.
Patricia Lutkenhaus to Lead Pike Middle School as Principal
The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees approved the hiring of Patricia Lutkenhaus as the new principal of Gene Pike Middle School at the June 28 school board meeting.

Mrs. Lutkenhaus, currently serving as assistant principal at the same school, will begin her new role in mid-July, filling the vacancy left by Chris Jones who transitioned to Ponder ISD.

Mrs. Lutkenhaus has served Northwest ISD for the past eight years, first at Chisholm Trail Middle School before joining the Pike faculty as the campus instructional teacher in 2015. During that time, she has been nominated three times for the Teacher of the Year award, earning the honor in 2017. She has 21 years of educational experience.
Northwest ISD Now Hiring Bus Drivers
Northwest ISD is seeking applicants who are 18 years and older for bus driver positions starting at $18/hour. Employees receive paid training, TRS retirement, and benefits, including medical, dental and vision.

Volunteers Needed for Mobile Food Market
Northwest ISD and the Northwest ISD Education Foundation are partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank to provide a mobile market for families in need.

And we need your help!

In order to make this monthly event a success, we need 100 volunteers for various areas of distribution each month.

Event Details:

  • July 17 (Takes place on the third Saturday of every month)
  • 8 a.m. to noon (Food distribution from 9 to 11 a.m.)
  • NISD Administration Building parking lot, 2001 Texan Drive, Justin, TX 76247

Volunteer Requirements:

  • Minimum age to volunteer is 13 years old.
  • All volunteers will be required to read a document from the Tarrant Area Food Bank and will sign off that it has been read on the day of the event (annual TAFB requirement to volunteer).
  • All registration table volunteers will be required to complete online training from the Tarrant Area Food Bank that takes approximately 30 minutes and is required annually. The required training instructions will be sent via email after receipt of your volunteer sign-up.
