118 NISD students named National Recognition Scholars
Northwest ISD is proud of the 118 Northwest ISD juniors and seniors designated by College Board as National Recognition Program Scholars, based on academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT and AP exams!
Parents as Teachers professional named Parent Educator of the Year
Parents as Teachers named Northwest ISD’s Jamie Castro Rodriguez — an early childhood educator with the district’s Family Involvement program — as a 2022 Parent Educator of the Year at their recent conference in Denver. 

Rodriguez was selected from more than 8,000 PAT home visitors throughout the United States, further proving her intentional service directly supports Northwest ISD children and their families. 
Eaton runner advances to state meet
Congratulations to Izzy Lochtefeld who will represent Northwest ISD at the University Interscholastic League Cross Country State Championships!

The V.R. Eaton High School senior ran an excellent race at the 6A Regional meet to advance to the championships in Round Rock on Friday, November 4. Way to go, Izzy!
No school on October 31 and November 1
All Northwest ISD campuses and offices will be closed on Monday, October 31, for a staff and student holiday.

In addition, students will not have school on Tuesday, November 1, however district offices will reopen and staff will be present on campuses.

Students will return to school and all classes will resume on Wednesday, November 2.
Minimum wage increased for NISD paraprofessionals
The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees unanimously approved an increase in the minimum wage of paraprofessional employees to remain competitive in the hiring marketplace.

Minimum wage for an hourly Northwest ISD paraprofessional staff member increased from $12.50 to $15 per hour. Additionally, the minimum wage for bus monitors increased to $14 per hour.
LRPC website updates community on district planning and growth
Members of the NISD Long Range Planning Committee (LRPC) provide numerous levels of invaluable input. The LRPC consists of various membersincluding parents, staff, business owners and more — from across Northwest ISD who lead the committee and provide diverse perspectives. The LRPC meets often to study and prioritize the facility needs of the school district and assists in providing recommendations to the Northwest ISD Board of Trustees.

A LRPC website has been created to keep the NISD community informed on the progress of the committee and the facility planning process. To view meeting presentations and notes, to submit a question or to view LRPC resources, please visit www.nisdtxlrpc.org.
Help name NISD's next elementary schools
What should Northwest ISD's next five elementary schools be named? Help us decide!

Submit your naming recommendations for the district’s next elementary schools, including a campus slated to open in 2024 in the Wildflower Ranch community, on the district's website.

Please note the nomination form will close on Tuesday, November 1.
Growth discussed at Gold Card Luncheon
A great time was had at our Gold Card Luncheon!

We appreciate our senior citizens and the support they provide Northwest ISD!

Register for NISD's annual Reindeer Romp
5K and 1 Mile Fun Run options available
Dust off your running shoes! Registration for Northwest ISD's 15th annual Reindeer Romp 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run is now open!

Races will take place on Saturday, December 10, at the Alliance Airport. The one-mile fun run will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the 5K run starting at 9 a.m.
Community Folder available for local groups
As a service to Northwest ISD's students, parents and community, the district provides the Community Folder for non-school groups or organizations to share information that may be of interest or a benefit to students and families.

The information for the Community Folder is an electronic communication that can be for elementary school students, secondary school students or both. Links to the Community Folder can be found on each campus website. NISD will remind students, parents, and community members to frequently check the latest information posted.
Tune into Facebook Live tonight at 6 p.m.
Northwest ISD will host a Facebook Live video chat, starting tonight at 6 p.m.

Topics to be addressed include the district’s surging growth, current construction projects and an update on the superintendent search timeline. The district will also provide a brief update on rezoning preparations for future schools.

Resource Store provides free support to NISD teachers and students
Do you need folders for your students? Glue sticks? The Northwest ISD Education Foundation's resource store and library provides immediate support to NISD teachers and students through free resources and educational materials. NISD teachers can “shop” for school and classroom supplies, snack packs, clothing items and books. All items are free to district educators!

Since the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year, the store has welcomed more than 300 in-person shoppers and received 450+ online order requests. Because of overwhelming needs, we are asking for your help! The store is currently out of pencils and markers. Books of all reading levels are also in high demand. If you feel inclined to help, please visit the store's online wishlist.
Mobile Food Pantry open on November 19
Northwest ISD is partnering with Tarrant Area Food Bank and the Northwest ISD Education Foundation to offer a monthly mobile market to provide groceries and assistance to families in need.

Time: 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, November 19

Location: NISD Administration Building
2001 Texan Drive in Justin

Food distribution will be in the parking lot next to NISD Stadium until 11 a.m. Food and supplies are provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
