Reminder: No school tomorrow
Tomorrow, April 19, is a student holiday, meaning there are no classes at any grade level. Additionally, schools and offices will be closed to visitors. Classes will resume at their regular times on Monday, April 22.
Top educators, staff honored at Inspire
Congratulations to all our teacher and staff honorees at last week's Inspire Celebration! The event crowned the district's Teachers of the Year, Chelsey Dunlevy of Love at the elementary level and Melissa Krieg of Pike at the secondary level. Additionally, top educators from each campus were honored, as were top staff from across the district.
Drill teams finish competitive seasons at top state, national events
The 2019 Eaton Sapphires in Miami
Northwest ISD’s high school drill teams – the Byron Nelson Dazzlers, Eaton Sapphires and Northwest Sidekicks – recently completed their competition seasons, earning top marks for their performances at state and national meets. The Dazzlers competed in San Antonio, while the Sapphires traveled to Miami and the Sidekicks finished their season at Galveston.
Registration for 2019-20 school year open
Registration for the 2019-20 school year is now open! For families of returning students, emails are being sent this week with a link and "snap code" to register their children for the upcoming school year. Clicking on this link will have most information already filled out for each child (and separate emails will be sent for families with multiple students). Families who will be new to the district can enroll online for the upcoming year as well.
Kindergarten and pre-K roundups taking place week of April 28
Each year, Northwest ISD elementary schools host roundup events for incoming kindergarten and pre-K students to help them get acclimated to their new campuses. This year, schools will host these events the week of April 28, with the specific date selected by the campus.

District names elementary Writers of the Month for April
Congratulations to the district's Elementary Writers of the Month for March! Rylan Taylor from Granger Elementary School, Nathan Ackah from Hatfield Elementary School and Keren Hamuli from Hughes Elementary School were each honored for their writing abilities this month. Great work!

Candidates for the open seat on Northwest ISD's Board of Trustees recently took part in a forum, answering questions from local residents. Early voting will take place April 22-30, with Election Day voting taking place May 4.
Summer camp registrations beginning

Dozens of camps for students will take place this summer across Northwest ISD, providing academic, athletic and fine arts opportunities. While some camps will open registration closer to the end of the school year, many academic camps are now open for registration, including Camp Invention, Destination Imagination Camp, Summer Science Blastoff and TechnoCamp.
