STEM Academy Students Invent Limiter Devices for NISD Schools
Are your small “squirts” of watery hand sanitizer landing everywhere but on your hands? You are not alone, according to students enrolled in Northwest ISD’s STEM Academy. 

“Our students kept noticing large messes on the ground near the sanitizer bottle,” said Casey Helmick, STEM Coordinator at Northwest High School in Justin, Texas. “And often, sanitizer sprayed out onto your pants or shoes. It was a mess!”

With NISD campuses offering face-to-face learning during the COVID-19 pandemic, the district provided many tools to ensure students and staff were safe and hands were sanitized. One of the necessary items was a large hand sanitizer bottle for every classroom, shared space, office, and entryway. 
School Board Meeting on Monday, Nov. 9
The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees will hold their next board meeting via videoconference on Monday, Nov. 9.

Northwest ISD Celebrates Veterans Day
Veterans Day celebrations across Northwest ISD will look different next week as restrictions continue due to the global pandemic. Campuses are finding creative ways to honor those who served in the military through student projects, videos, etc. We look forward to sharing some of these next week!
2020 NISD Reindeer Romp Goes Virtual
Registration is now open for the 2020 NISD Reindeer Romp.

The race will be held virtually, with participants running the race when and where they choose between November 15 and December 12.
