Northwest ISD's newsletter for families and the community
August 17, 2022
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!
Northwest ISD enrollment tops 28,000 students
Today, 28,497 students filled the hallways of Northwest ISD's 31 campuses for a fabulous start to the 2022-2023 school year!

Please note that our staff, children, neighbors and friends will be getting back into their own school year routines. Remind kids to look before crossing the street. Please also be patient with us – some lunch lines, parking lot lines and transportation routes may take longer during the first few weeks of school, but these routines will become smoother and faster as the school year continues.

Additional photographs from today can be found on the district's Flickr account.
Northwest ISD's growth and portable safety
Watch how NISD — the fastest growing school district in North Texas — is actively planning for the future to provide quality learning environments district-wide.
NISD bus routes recently updated in HAC
Please log into the Home Access Center to view your child’s updated bus route information, and click here to learn more about the MyView app to track your child’s bus route to and from school. This is a great way to see minute-by-minute updates for when your child will be picked up and dropped off each school day.

For additional questions, you may send an email to NISD's transportation department at transportation@nisdtx.org.
Maintenance plans for student laptops
As a 1-to-1 school district for laptops or Chromebooks at the secondary level, every Northwest ISD middle and high school Northwest ISD student has the opportunity to use these devices frequently. If you would like to protect your child’s district-issued device, Northwest ISD offers an optional $25 maintenance plan to offset any student/family costs should damages be accidentally caused by your child.

This plan costs $25 for the entire school year and covers half the cost of any repairs. The plan must be purchased within the first 30 days of school, or 30 days from the first day of enrollment for those who started later in the school year. For more information or to purchase the optional plan, click here.
SchoolMed now available for NISD families
Northwest ISD has partnered with Goodside Health, a school-based tele-health program that provides students and families access to high-quality care when they need it most!

Students can now be treated right in the school nurse’s office, helping them be happier and healthier in the classroom!

Every student is eligible to register for SchoolMed regardless of insurance or residency status but must be registered to take part in the program.
Have you registered for ParentSquare?
Communication from Northwest ISD schools and teachers to families has received a major upgrade with the adoption of ParentSquare! Northwest ISD has taken on this new platform to streamline communication for families, allowing them to receive messages in the format(s) they desire.

ParentSquare allows families to select how to receive messages, including by phone, email or mobile app. By default, Northwest ISD families will receive a digest communication message via email and text at 6 p.m. daily. This message will consolidate all communication from teachers and schools to a student’s parents or guardians.
