Note from the Principal
Dear RSPA-NW Families,
Thank you for a wonderful start to the 2018-2019 school year! We have heard exciting details surrounding summer vacation; witnessed heart-warming reunions amongst classmates; and have celebrated the excitement a new school year brings. The character traits for the month of September are honesty and integrity. Students will spend this month understanding the meaning of those concepts, as well as learning how to apply them day-to-day. As I make my daily rounds, I have already observed our students providing help to others; exhibiting pride in their surroundings by cleaning up after themselves; and, actively participating in class. I am pleased with their progress and know that they will only improve!
As we continue to settle in, please take note of the following:

Stay Connected:
We use several methods to communicate with our parents, two of them being email and Remind 101 text alerts. Please ensure that you have a valid email address in SchoolMint and have selected to receive notifications via email and text. If you only have text selected as your preferred method of communication, you will not receive any email correspondence  from the school. Click here to watch a quick tutorial on how to update your preferred method of communication. To sign up for Remind 101 text alerts, please text "@TRSLW" to number 81010.

Updated Traffic Plan:
To assure student, parent and staff safety, we have instituted a new traffic pick-up plan. In the afternoon, parents are now being directed to circle the building and collect the car riders from the south entry (near the main office). To further facilitate transitions and passenger safety, school buses and daycare vans will be the only vehicles allowed to park in front of the building to collect students. We believe this arrangement will reduce risk and support our efforts to streamline the dismissal process.
School begins at 7:45am. Please assure your child is on-time to avoid the accumulation of tardies or absences. When students arrive after 7:45am, parents must sign them in at the front office.
Early Dismissals:
School dismisses at 3:25pm Monday - Thursday and at 1:00pm on Friday. Students may not be picked up with less than 30 minutes left in the school day. On Monday - Thursday, students may not be picked up early after 2:55pm. On Fridays, students may not be picked up early after 12:30pm.
School Uniforms:
Parents, please keep in mind that The Rhodes School for the Performing Arts is a uniform school. Assure your child is dressed in a light blue, oxford shirt, tie and navy-blue bottoms. Polo shirts are unacceptable. For more information about the uniform policy, please visit For kindergarten, first and second grade scholars, please send a change of clothes in their backpacks. The change of clothes will remain in the child's backpack until needed.
Lunch applications:
Lunch applications are required for ALL scholars. Please apply for free/reduced lunch: Also, please note that a microwave is not available to scholars during lunch. For your child's safety, pack a lunch that does not require warming.
We certainly appreciate your investment, involvement and support. Thank you for entrusting your child's schooling to us. I look forward to working with you!
