Like most any other high school in the country, Northwest Christian High School in Phoenix, Arizona offers the traditional slate of Fine Arts performance offerings: band concerts, choir concerts, and dramatic plays, and musicals.

But, unlike any other high school in the country, there are two things that Northwest Christian High does that are very unique...

First, Northwest Christian is wholly and unabashedly committed to Biblical worldview. We believe that we are Imago Dei - divinely created by a Creator who has imbued within each of us a creative capacity that reflects His glory into a world that He loves and that we serve. Our creativity is an expression of worship to a Heavenly Father that loves us each more deeply than we can imagine.

Second, because God's Holy Spirit indwells each believer, in the spirit of innovation, we offer opportunities for student expressions of creativity that are very unique. These include, as you can see below, making movies! With students both in front of and behind the cameras, our students are creating feature films!

Stolen Spotlight

Released in January 2025, Stolen Spotlight advertising tagline was "A night like no other..." which proved to be a worthy descriptor for a film that was like no other. In the spirit of the "Choose Your Own Adventure" books and presented in the old-time noir style of a grainy black and white mystery film, Stolen Spotlight revolves around a group of students who are suspects in the theft of a priceless piece of movie memorabilia. As the audience proceeds through the film, they are given options, based on suspects, and each option takes the viewer in an altogether different direction...until, at last, the suspect is revealed!

Test Takers

Styled after a classic heist film, "Test Takers" follows a group of the smartest kids in school who are preparing for graduation. But, before they do, they conceive the ultimate senior prank and the perfect crime - they decide to steal of a copy of the only test in the school's history that has never been aced.

The Next Shot

Sports movie. Underdog story. Losing Team. You know the formula - some polarizing plot point unfolds pointing the team towards the big buzzer beater shot. Well, not quite. "The Next Shot" has you riding the rails of formula - until it doesn't - and that shot knocks you on your ear.

Split Second

Life is full of moments. In the average human life, there are over two billion seconds. What if one of those seconds - just one - made all the difference in the world? What if a split second decision could change the direction that the balance of your life would take? What would you choose?

Do-Gooders

You know the routine. Avengers. Justice League. Suicide Squad. All of that. A group of super heroes bands together, predictably, to battle some momentous evil and, again, predictably, they save the day. But, imagine that there was no super hero...imagine that you found that you had a simple ability and that nothing-special-ability could shape fate...

The Big Score

A high school movie musical based on real life? Kind of. Based on a real school project at Northwest Christian in which every student is given seed money and challenged to use that money to grow a business or initiative that could have a Kingdom impact, "The Big Score" features music, drama, and a twist that you won't forget.

Wreckage

A post-apocalyptic thriller in which every individual ten-years-old or older suddenly disappears from the planet and the children that are left pick up the pieces and put together a primitive society from the remnants of civilization. "Wreckage" picks up several years later when, out of the blue, an adult reappears. Where did they go? What happened? And, now, why are they back?

The Rise and Fall of Death Chicken

Everyone wants to go viral - to be famous. In this mockumentary, that is exactly what happens to the heavy metal band Death Chicken. The only trouble is that the band has never played a show - or practiced - or written a song. All they did was launch a social media account...

Scapegoat

A madman with a bomb. Students with a secret. And, a clock counting down to zero. "Scapegoat" is a suspenseful mad dash to the finish line and a resolution that you never saw coming...

The Substitute

It's English class just like any other day until a substitute teacher shows up who asks students the one thing that they would want to take with them if, suddenly, they were abandoned in the woods, miles from any form of civilization. It is an assignment that these students will wish they had taken seriously.

Screwtape Academy

Famously, C.S. Lewis wrote "The Screwtape Letters", a novel in which he imagined a chief demon, Screwtape, teaching his acolytes how to be better demons - better at being demonic. We pick up the baton and go the extra lap: what is Screwtape started a school for demons?
