Northwood School Laker

News from the Technology Director

We have been talking about Internet Safety here at Northwood School and I wanted to share a resource with all families. Netsmartz is a web site devoted to helping families navigate the difficult online world. As most every student has access to some type of personal computing device,  Netsmartz.org as well as netsmartzkids.org have a great deal of info to help families keep their children safe online. While no method will be perfect, the best thing we can do is to communicate with each other and make sure our children feel safe talking to a trusted adult about anything they encounter online.

On November 13th I will be doing a presentation to the 6-8 grade students. This video will be put on the school website for you to see.

211 is New Hampshire’s first statewide, comprehensive, information and referral service. Thanks to a unique coalition of non-profit, government, corporate and volunteer partners, New Hampshire residents need only dial 211 to be connected, at no cost, with trained Information and Referral Specialists who can provide them with the health and human service information they need to get help, give help or discover options. News from Kindergarten

This week in kindergarten we learned positional words like beside, behind, left and right. Our safety lessons were about never talking to strangers and Halloween safety.

SEASONAL ATTIRE

On Thursday, October 31, we encourage students and staff to celebrate the season by wearing seasonal attire. Clothing featuring jack o' lanterns, spiders, bats, black cats, etc., is encouraged! Please note that students are not permitted to wear costumes to school.
