STEM Club News

This past Sunday, 12 members of the Northwood STEM club participated in the VEX Robotics competition at Belmont High School. We had 3 teams, the Fashionable Ferrets, the Beastly Blowfish, and the Chipmunks of Destiny. The initial goal for our first ever Robotics competition was to just be able to produce a working robot that would at least move around on the field arena. What ended up happening was that all three teams scored points and were able to hold their own against the other more established teams. At one point in the competition, all three teams were in the top 20 on the leaderboard. At the end of the day, all three teams did a great job working their robots and got some well deserved recognition from two of the most successful programs in the state. One of our teams, the Fashionable Ferrets, even qualified for the semi-finals. Mr. Levergood and Mr. Robert were very proud of the teams and were very impressed how they conducted themselves with the other teams at the event. What a great job and a great jumping off point for next year!

News from Kindergarten

The kindergarteners are learning how to use their iPads with Mr. Robert. We practiced typing on the keyboard and looking for different apps.
