Teacher Appreciation Week
This week we celebrated Teacher Appreciation Week, and at Northwood School, we know that being a teacher means far more than delivering lessons from a textbook. Every adult in our school community—whether in a classroom, the cafeteria, the front office, or beyond—helps shape our students’ learning and growth.
Our custodial staff sets the tone for responsibility and care, creating a safe and welcoming space for learning. Office staff model respect and calm under pressure. Cafeteria staff ensure every student is nourished and ready to take on the day. Bus drivers are often the first and last school-related face a student sees in a day—setting the tone with kindness and consistency. Our incredible guest teachers step in, often with little notice, to keep learning on track without missing a beat. Paraprofessionals are in the thick of it each day, supporting students as they build academic, social, and self-regulation skills. Related service providers help students overcome challenges and grow more independent. And our classroom teachers, specialists, related arts staff, interventionists, and special educators work every day to help students gain knowledge, confidence, and the tools they’ll carry into the future.
Teaching is more than a job—it’s a commitment. Northwood School educators show up early, stay late, attend games and events, and support students long after the final bell. They plan, adapt, collaborate, reflect, and continuously ask: “What’s best for our students?” They don’t just teach—they care, guide, and advocate.
A heartfelt thank-you to our PTO, SAU, School Board, and families for making sure our teachers feel seen, valued, and celebrated this week. Your support means the world.
Northwood teachers, thank you for all that you do—and all that you are to our students.
Have a wonderful weekend!
