What is NEASC Accreditation?

NEASC accreditation, provided by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, means that a school meets high standards of quality and effectiveness. This accreditation process involves a thorough evaluation of the institution's educational programs, governance, resources, and overall performance. Northwood School became accredited with NEASC in 2021.

For a school, NEASC accreditation signifies:

  1. Quality Assurance: The school has undergone a rigorous review process to ensure it delivers a high standard of education and has the resources needed for students to succeed.
  2. Continuous Improvement: The school is committed to ongoing self-assessment and improvement. NEASC accreditation isn't just a one-time event; it involves regular reviews and updates to maintain and enhance standards.
  3. Credibility and Recognition: NEASC accreditation is widely recognized and respected.
  4. Accountability: The school is held accountable to a set of standards that cover various aspects of educational quality, including curriculum, faculty qualifications, student support services, and facilities.

NEASC accreditation helps schools demonstrate their commitment to excellence and provides assurance to students, parents, and the community that the institution is dedicated to maintaining high educational standards. NEASC accreditation supports Northwood School's vision and mission statements and provides a common set of standards for the school community to aspire to.

Have a wonderful weekend!

The Kindergarten students practiced listening to stories and learned how to check out books

The 4th graders completed a Library Scavenger Hunt.

The 5th graders have listened to a chapter of Because of Mr. Terupt by Rob Buyea, and they tried their hands at coming up with Dollar Words.

The 7th graders have started writing their Choose Your Own Adventure stories, and putting them in Google Slides with hyperlinks.

And of course our elementary students have enjoyed the new dollhouse!

We are ready to have a great year!
